What should the voting age be in the USA?

It’s currently 18. Should it change? If yes, should it go up or down?

I think 18 is good. At 16, I couldn’t have cared less about politics and wouldn’t have taken the time to actually research what I was voting for. At 21 just seems too late

I like it at 18. 
but I also think the legal drinking age should then be lowered to 18. 
18 your legally an adult, can vote, join the military, move out, leave high school, more opportunity for jobs (vs 16) 
if you where to change the voting age to something higher then I feel everything else should be bumped up to that age too. (though I dont agree with raising it)

I'm of the unpopular opinion that the legal adult age should be 25, but more realistically 21. Therefore...no voting, joining the military, smoking, drinking, getting married etc until 21.

The only reason I feel 18 is not good is because a lot teens base their opinions off of their parents or maybe friends, but I feel like at 18 people are starting to become somewhat independent, but still rely on their parents (in general, not all 18 years, but a lot of them). I just think if it was 21 it could potentially be better because that gives people a few more years to educate themselves and figure out their own beliefs and political views. Like sure, I had some friends who were very knowledgeable about politics in high school, but not many and those were kids in my AP history and gov classes, so politics was a passion of theirs. I have to say for most of us, we were so focused on school and moving out to go to college and party that we did not care that much to learn about what was actually going on in our country and just based our views off of what we saw on social media instead of taking the time to educate ourselves. Like I’ve been just voting to vote without being THAT educated about why and who I’m voting for until last year. But I don’t know if that’s enough to say that we actually should change the age. That’s just my personal opinion from my own personal experience and observations.

Keep it where it's at. Some 18 year olds are complete dipshits and don't exercise their right to vote anyway, other 18 year olds are very mature and deserve a chance for their voice to be heard, especially since they're the ones who will be leading the future generations. We need to empower the younger generations to stand up and speak out for what they believe in, taking away their right to vote when they become a legal adult is doing the opposite and would probably cause more issues.

It’s fine where it is... any younger and you’re too young and any older makes no sense because you’re a legal adult at 18
