Should smoking in public be illegal?

Smoking should be like sex... 
in the privacy of your own home with consulting adults who are ok with being around that sh**😂 
I am so sick of smelling other people’s bad decisions every time I go outside! People should know by now that smoking is horrible for you... why aren’t law makers protecting the right to breathe clean air for people who are smart enough to not smoke??

No no no. Smokers have rights too. Smoking inside should be, THEN it’s bad for people around, plus the smell gets stuck in the furniture and it’s horrible. But outside? Come on. If smoking outside should be illegal then cars should be too lol so you’re okay with breathing air polluted by cars but if it’s a person smoking then omg it’s so terrible 😂 it’s ridiculous

I hate when people smoke right outside the doors of a grocery store 🤦‍♀️ makes me sickened especially now that I'm pregnant. They could easily go sit on a bench a few more feet away or you know... Anywhere but in front of the door

Well in my country you aren't allowed to smoke indoors, you have to be in designated smoking areas, etc. Breathing the general air can be just as harmful.

I would at least like stricter regulations. They can only smoke on their property or far away from doors. I start coughing like crazy when people smoke near me. My body simply can't handle it. And I hate the idea of their decision affecting me. They made that mistake. I shouldn't have to suffer for it. So I do think there should be stricter rules.

I do wish people were more considerate smokers.. but I think it’s a slippery slope to ban smoking entirely from outdoors. I used to smoke and would cross the street if I saw a baby or would cup my cig in my hand when passing others and would exhale, blowing upwards, if I wasn’t already off the beaten path.. buuut I’m incredibly neurotic and I’m sure nobody else would give two shits to do all that. lol. When I’m out walking with my babe now, I’ll just walk faster to get past them or try to use an entrance further down when that’s an option. Definitely not as bad or as long-lasting as our constant air pollution, as others have mentioned! It’s unpleasant but not the ends of the world, imo.

Maybe not illegal but I think smokers should considers others. My neighbors smoke weed in their backyard (smells so fucking bad) and I end up having to run around the house closing windows. I hate that I want to let in fresh air but am instead met with a putrid smell.

The worst ones are those who smoke in the "no smoking zones" which are clearly marked. We were going into the hospital with my son and a guy was smoking in a "no smoking zone" we had to walk through. I quietly told my son to hold his breath and this man mouthed off at me. I never called him out about it, I'm just protecting my kid. 😒
