Does anyone have any experience with STR and the process? Currently dealing with Great west life.

My midwife and doctor have signed me off of work for extreme back pain, my SI joint (pelvis) sciatica, and soft tissue upper back pain. I’m currently going to physio once a week and haven’t noticed any improvement. My last day of work was Jan 30th.

I wasn’t sleeping and taking care of my 18 month old and working full time, couldn’t sit or stand for more then 5 minutes at a time. Always in pain always uncomfortable. I’ve sent all the paperwork from my doctor/midwife back to them and just waiting to hear if I’ll be approved or not.

I’m wondering if anyone has ever gone thru this and been declined? And then what? My husband tells me not to worry about it and we’ll figure it out if they decline me, but it’s stressing me out! And wondering if it will effect my maternity benefits if I’m declined, I have the required hours for mat leave but with being on disability wondering if that effects it at all?
