Sex ish

Ok so recently my boyfriend has gotten into the idea of anal sex and the idea scares me. mainly because we did once try but it hurt so bad that we didnt even get to try. Im not sure if its my body or generally it happens to everyone but i need some advice because it always hurts and i want to be able to please him so we cant both have some fun :( any tips?
