My GP declined my referral to see a gynaecologist
I started seeing my period from 11 years old, ever since I can remember I’ve had extremely painful periods. I vomit every month from the pain, heavy bleeding with big clots (sorry tmi). I also feel very drained, dizzy and I get diarrhoea and no appetite at all. It’s so horrible. I haven’t been diagnosed but wondering if it’s endometriosis. My dr sent me for blood tests and an ultrasound where they saw I have a 2cm fibroid which the dr said is harmless. I then requested a referral to see the gynaecologist which was recently declined. I’m just starting to feel really hopeless. I’m having trouble getting pregnant and all they want to do is put me on different contraceptions. Any advice guys😭.
UPDATE: So I had an appointment on Wednesday so the Dr could explain why my referral was declined and my other options. The Dr advised that there are limited resources in the gynaecology field so they are stricter with their referrals. She then goes over my symptoms again and asks why I’m not on contraception which we have already discussed🙄. One being I don’t like the mood swings I get whilst on contraception and I’m concerned about my fertility. As I’ve been off contraception for over 2 years and have not been pregnant. She claims I didn’t say this before so she’s now going to put my referral through again as the only other options are contraception. I’m literally going back and forth but feeling a bit more hopeful.
