So confused!!!

According to my dates I should be 6 weeks, but at my abdominal ultrasound today she couldn't see so she did a vaginal ultrasound and she said she had nothing to show me because I am still too early. She said she saw the yolk sac and it all looks good to her. Just too early on to see anything. Disappointed she didn't even show us the yolk sac😔... I guess it isn't bad news but I don't understand how I am not furthur along...Getting excited and wanted to see my baby for the first time!
