How many of you had spotting or bleeding after getting an IUD?

How long did it last for? Was it a lot of blood? Even if you didn’t, just let me know because it looks like everyone has had at least spotting for quite a while.

It lasted for 6 months for me. Very little amount though. Worth it. Barely have periods anymore

I didnt spot at all or bleed from IUD insertion. I got my period for 3 days longer than normal the first month. So first month was 10 day period, second month was 7 which is normal for me. Third and 4th month were reduced and then no periods after that. I'm on month 9 with mirena. It's different for everyone. Irregular bleeding is common the first 6 months with iuds. This includes prolonged bleeding, heavier bleeding, lighter bleeding, periods closer together or farther apart, spotting or none at all. Some women bleed longer than others and some dont. I would try waiting out the first 6 months and then seeing if it gets better. Especially with a hormonal IUD. It's likely that your flow will lessen but periods may remain irregular.

Mine lasted about 3 months! I've had it for a year and getting it taken out next week due to side effects including weight gain ☹️

3 weeks of light to medium period. Then nothing for 2 months. Then a 2 week long period. And now nothing again, since July.
