(warning. It’s long 🙂 pictures at bottom!!)
Well... it was my due date (February 19th) and I went to work because I said I’d work up until I gave birth. I was scheduled for an induction on Friday (today 2/22) so I was going to have my last day be Wednesday so I could have a couple days to rest and clean and prepare. I started working half days so 8-12 instead of 8-5. So it was just a normal day. Got my membranes swept the day before (2/18) and nothing really changed. I was still feeling my prodromal labor lol. So I worked. My boss put me in the toddler class instead of my typical preschool. Which is whatever. Around 10 am I started having back pain. I figured it was normal since I’ve had back pain off and on throughout my pregnancy. It got worse as time went on but again I didn’t think anything of it. Noon rolls around and I go to leave work and I tell my boss I’ll see them tomorrow. I go to get myself pizza because I was STARVING. I got home and sat in my room and chowed down. I swear I ate more than I ever have before. I had to stop myself before I made myself sick lol. I’m a major pizza addict and that’s all I had major cravings for lol. I went to lay down after I put the pizza away and was laying on my left side to try to nap. Couldn’t. I laid there for at least a couple hours. Well my back pain got so much worse so I went to roll onto my back to maybe ease it a bit. NOPE. as soon as I rolled over I felt a tiny gush. I was pissed because I thought I peed the bed. Which I’ve never done lol. So I got up and went into the bathroom to clean myself up. Sat on the toilet and another gush happened and then stopped then I was able to pee. So I text my mom “I think my water is breaking” I was home alone so she was on her way to come get me but instead I had my dad come get me. He was 5 minutes away and my mom was a good 20. So fast forward, my dad got me to the hospital where we met my mom and we got checked in to labor and delivery. They had to do a test to make sure it was my amniotic fluid and it came back negative. 🙄 so I told them don’t send me home and they redid the test. The nurse walked in and goes “so what do you think” and I said “I’m not letting you send me home” and she laughed and said she wasn’t sending me home because it was positive and I told her good because I was going to fight her 😂😂😂😂 now once I get admitted and hooked to the machine, my contractions were all in my hips and my back so they weren’t picking up on the monitor and my son kept moving and couldn’t keep track of his heart rate so they had to insert a wire vaginally and put it on his head. Then they stuck a tube to monitor contractions through my vagina. But then I couldn’t handle the contractions so I got my epidural. BEST THING EVER. I didn’t feel anything. My cousin even asked if I was feeling my contractions and I said no and she said that’s crazy because they were strong ones. Well 3am rolled around and they came in and told me I’d have to have a csection because his heart rate kept dropping since he was stressed and I wouldn’t progress past a 4. :( they didn’t want to start pitocin because it would complicate things more. But at 3:57 am my precious baby boy made his arrival !! So even though things didn’t go my way, I got my baby boy and he’s super healthy and I’d much rather have a csection in order to keep my baby okay. :) he was 6lbs 11.1oz and 18.25 inches long. Perfection ! :)
Wide awake at 3:45 am!
We get to go home!!
Changed once we get home in cozy pjs. :)
