Trying
Okay so my husband and I have been “not trying but not not trying” for four months. I am trying more than him (counting days, eating better, drinking water, just more conscious of choices and days) I made a mention of it to my sister-in-law, who has been excited for us to try, and she says, “Oh. So you’re trying. Are you guys even like okay to try? What if you actually get pregnant? Have you thought about it? You’ll have to quit your job or send them to daycare. Are you financially stable enough to have a kid?” And I said, “well, we aren’t trying. We are not preventing. Yes we are fine. I want a child and am letting the Lord decide. We are stable and I will not quit but I’ll find something so our kids will not have to go to daycare.” (I worked in a daycare, no hate on daycares, I’d just rather us watch them since we have opposites schedules.)
So I guess my question is, has anyone else had someone be completely upset when you’ve told them about wanting to have a kid? Please just let me know I’m not alone, because right now I feel about 1 inch tall.
