My boyfriend and I went to the mall and when we got there we saw his friends girlfriend who did not say hi to us. As it was also too late to say hi to her because we passed by.
So my boyfriend decided to text his friend that we saw her.
I don’t know why but in the moment I got upset. Like why does he need to text him we saw her when she didn’t even acknowledge us..

You didn’t say hi to her either lol. Why does she owe you a hi but you can walk right past her and not turn around for a second and say hi if she didn’t notice you either?

I’m awful at noticing faces when I’m out in public and often walk past people that I know, completely unintentionally.

Um you didn't say hi to her either so what's the problem? Your bf is weird for texting his friend. Why is he keeping tabs on her? I'd be annoyed and would have said something to him at the time.

If i bump into them a few days later then i'll say " i saw you a few days ago at the mall" 
Id be weirded out if people were texting my boyfriend that they saw me at the store or restaurant. It just seems weirdly controlling for everyone to be keeping tabs on me.  If you're mad that your boyfriend is being a creep i understand but being mad for any other reason you're over reacting.
