Baby hiccups
My baby girl started having hiccups 4 days ago. I'm 29w1d. She has them very strong and it's been every single day around the same time. The day before yesterday it happened twice and today it happened twice already within a 3 hour time period. I was concerned because I read an article about fetal hiccups that said
"it could be that the umbilical cord has become compressed or prolapsed. The blood and oxygen supply to the fetus may become restricted or stop altogether in these situations.
A prolapsed or compressed cord may result in complications, including:
•the baby's heart rate slowing
•the baby's blood pressure dropping
•build up of CO2 (carbon dioxide) in the •baby's blood
•brain damage
•stillbirth"
So I freaked out and called my OB. She said as long as they aren't lasting as long as an hour at a time and as long as her movements have not decreased there is nothing to worry about.
I'm still worrying.
My next appointment is on Monday and I'm really looking forward to it just to make sure everything with my baby girl is okay. This is also a follow up after a small car accident I was involved in a week ago where I had to spend some time in L&D monitoring the baby afterwards so I'm just looking for some relief after getting all checked out with my OB.
