How many Milliliters are you feeding your babies?

How often and how much are you feeling your babies? My son sleeps though all his feelings so when he does wake up he’s starving. We were told no more then 60mls every 4 hours but he’s so hungry.

If you are strictly bottle feeding you should not be restricting your baby's feeding. You shouldn't let him sleep longer than 4 hours and should let him drink as much as he wants, a good rule to follow is an ounce (30ml) for every hour he's been asleep. If he's not waking up to eat and he hasn't gained back his birth weight you need to bring him to the doctor. Is he having enough wet diapers a day? 60ml every 4-6 hours isn't enough, whoever told you that gave you bad advice.

You probably need to wake him up. Our son is what’s called a “silent starver” where he doesn’t wake up to eat and, if we didn’t wake him up and feed him, he would starve to death. It’s why I hate when people on these boards tell other moms not to wake their babies because they’ll wake when they’re hungry, because that’s not always true. We wake him every 2 hours, change his diaper, and feed him 2 oz each time.

We feed 60-90 oz every 2-3 hrs. Our baby girl will tell us when she’s hungry for the most part. My pediatrician said feed as much as they want and take their cues, if they spit up a lot then it’s been too much.

I give my little one 70-90mls every 3 hours. Any less and she eats every hour to two hours. Any more and she spits up too much.!!

My son sleeps 5-6 hours every night. Waking him is IMPOSSIBLE. We have tried everything including wet wash cloths. Because of this he had trouble gaining his weight back. We were told every 2-3 hours for feeds. But after working with our pediatrician we started feeding every hour and a half and now he is gaining weight like a champ. The doctor said as long as he is eating 10-12 times a day it is okay to have one longer sleeping period in between. 
We also just started feeding on demand. If he is hungry 30 min later we feed him. If he the sleeps for 3 hours it is okay. We just keep track of his feedings to make sure he gets enough.

I would wake him up every 3 hours and feed him until he starts waking on his own cause that is a long time between feedings especially if it’s all day long if it’s just at night he is sleeping an extra hour I would say it’s fine. But you really want them to get used to getting hungry so you know and he is healthy
