Has anyone here ever adopted a child?

I always heard when u adopt and the child finds out afterwards, they get rude and aggressive not sure if this is a myth..
I know someone who had twins and dcyf is involved it so sad how there are ppl here as myself who really wants a baby and cant, then u have ppl that have that blessing and dont care about the kids..
Such a sad world, fyi my AF just showed her ugly face, been, im a bit emotional, TTC for 2+years... went to doctor last week did blood work have another appointment next week, so nervous

I was friends with a girl who was adopted from Russia. She knew about her adoption from a young age and she took it very well, was proud of it even. Once we got into highschool, she became kind of upset about it because her mother just dropped her off on the steps of an orphanage and just left her there. She was confused and hurt because her biological parents abandoned her, but her adoptive parents absolutely adore her and gave her the best life possible. She's very passionate about adoption and plans on adopting all of her future children.
 Every person reacts in different ways, there's no set attitude. But that shouldn't discourage anyone from adopting, it's a wonderful thing.

Just like anything else in life.. all humans are different and react differently to different things. This includes adopted humans. There is no one single way all adopted kids behave. Period.
Don't stereotype and don't buy into stereotypes.

Children are people and no 2 are the same. My husband and I have talked about adopting if we are unable to conceive and we both agree that we wouldn’t keep it a secret from the child. It’s his/her right to know where he/she comes from. That’s just our opinion. I think anger with some adopted kids arises from feeling betrayed and lied too. Can you imagine finding out that the people you thought were your biological parents all your life aren’t? It has to be a whirlwind of emotions they are dealing with.

I have two adopted sisters. They knew from day 1 that they were adopted. They never got aggressive or upset. You have to have communication with them and all they want is to be treated fairly. A lot of adopted kids or kids in the system are going to be upset because of something horrible that happened in their life prior to adoption. (Unless you get a really really young kid or baby) Get them the help they need if they’re not okay.

I am adopted and so is my brother. We have both known our whole lives. I have never had any negative feelings about being adopted and he does. Each person is different, but there are all kinds of counselors to help you through the process.

I wasn’t adopted but my aunt was unable to conceive her own so my two cousins are adopted. Neither of them were mean or aggressive when they found out they were adopted but they both had different opinions about their bio parents. One of them searched and met her bio mom and the other wants absolutely nothing to do with his bio mom.

My two cousins were adopted at 2 and under.(seperate times and from diff parents)  When my one cousin found out he flipped out massively(years ago) and now hardly talks to my aunt and uncle. My other cousin had some issues but didn't take it bad and didnt want to find her birth parents. Its just about the individual and how they handle it.

That’s not always true. I feel like that happens when older teens or adults find out because they feel betrayed or like they missed out on knowing something important about themselves. 
If they always know, it’s typically easier to process and not feel ashamed about. 
There are many things that go into how people feel about their adoptions. Ongoing family therapy is really helpful for both adoptive parents and adoptees.
