has anyone ever had this happen? (read below)

So i was talking to my step mom, and she told me she had her period for the first few months of her pregnancy. The only reason she knew she was pregnant was because she had gained weight! 
I’m only 19 and very careful with my birth control, but hearing that makes me nervous! 
Has anyone else had their period while pregnant? And if you have, were you on birth control or not?

You cannot have a period while pregnant. It’s impossible. This is because. Period is the shedding of the uterine lining. If you are pregnant and your uterine lining sheds, then you get a miscarriage. Plenty of women get lighter bleeding which they mistake for a period though

One of my friends was telling me her cousin didn’t even know she was pregnant, she had her period every month, she went in because of a sharp pain in her side, found out she was 34 weeks pregnant. I dont know if she was on bc or not.

My cousin had a baby without knowing she was pregnant. She had periods all 9 months through, was plus size but losing weight due to dieting and exercise. She also drank alcohol and smoked throughout. And then her waters broke and she gave birth a year ago. It was crazy. Luckily baby Millie was perfectly healthy. 
So scary to think you can go for 9 months not knowing you’re pregnant and have such a sweet unexpected surprise
