Ring a potty bell training?

Question

Have any of you had success with training your dog to ring a bell to signal that they want to go potty? My dog doesn’t let me know when he needs to go to the bathroom and he’s not very vocal, so I’m constantly guessing, and I’d love it if he could tell me when he wants to go out! 
Any tips?? Thanks in advance!

Mine prefers to run around and then jump on the door 😂 (she can open the living room door on her own). Id find the bell annoying and i didnt want one cuzof my neighbours so instead id scratch the door with her paw everytime we go out and she figured its how it works. Just make sure, no matter what method you use, keep repeating the action, sometimes dogs dont connect the dots if u dont do it over and over again. Good luck 🍀👍

I had 3 dogs growing up that used it great. My dog now has no interest in it. He will use if it's an emergency and we aren't nearby, so I know he understands it. He'd just rather stand awkwardly and stare at us lol But we would tap it in their nose then ring it every time before taking them out.
