Sorry for how long this is. Please read I really need advice and information.

Ok so some history here first. My husband comes from a very sad background. He is one of five boys, and happens to be the only one that isnt or hasn't been to prison or is addicted to hard drugs. He's the second oldest, when he was a teen his mother was an alcoholic and abuser of prescription drugs. His step dad was deployed and things really spiraled down for the family. My husband dropped out of high school due to problems she created. He stepped up in order to raise his three younger brothers ( oldest of witch 7 years younger, his older brother addicted and selling meth) he and the boys endured alot. His mom was drunk and bringing strange men home, one of witch he had to threaten with a shotgun to get to leave. She was blowing all there money on booze and who knows what. He begged naibors and friends for food to feed himself and the boys. Helped with home work and overall doing his best to care for his brothers and mother. Fast forward a couple years. We meet, he is now 21 still trying to care for them. His dad is home and has picked up drinking as well, but over all trying to do his best. My in laws are still going very down hill at this point. There is only one bed for the three to fight over and the house should be enough reason for the boys to be taken away do to how covered in animal faeces and how dirty it was. She is a compulsive liar. The boys became active in drugs by 13. We attempted to gain custody but do to a bad accident we had, we had more pressing worrys( lots of surgery). We have continued over the years to get the boys but she is very manipulative and always sucks them back in. They were all court ordered to a boys juvenile detention camp, and received good help. Wanting to move in with us and go to school. But she got them all hooked on drugs again so they would have to be codependent on her( but she doesn't do anything to take care of them).

So up to present time. She has always slept around and brought the usual drama that addicts do. But this summer she left his dad, and it wasnt pretty. ( they both got sober 2 years ago after she was arrested and served 6 months because she refused to go to rehab) he has been trying to better there life and the boys, but she wasnt having it. Still on the pills and who knows what else. She has been running wild ever since, always trying to get attention with lies, hanging around addicts and overall just going down hill. We have put alot of distance but that's still his mom so it had been painful for him to set boundaries and decide witch are necessary. Overall we are just done with there life choices spilling over into our lives ( we almost had to take custody of his niece this summer).

So we have been struggling to get pregnant for 5 years now. They all know. A couple weeks ago she calls and tells him she is pregnant. Does not know exactly who the father is, and is still smoking and living her life as is. Overall just happy as can be about it. We ofcourse are terrified. Today she calls and asked if we would be the guardians should she and I quote " die on the table , because she is no spring chicken and may hemorrhage out" ..... there is a high chance this is all lies, it wouldn't be surprising. Shes lied before about being pregnant, even went as far as to have to naibor pee on a test for her. So I'm looking to all of you to maybe lend some of your knowledge to help determine if this is all true or not.

We asked if she has seen a dr. And if she was sure it is pregnancy and not menopause. That she could get a false positives due to getting older . Response was yes, had a blood test. That she will see a dr at her three month mark, that they discussed at said blood test or at scheduling the appointment that she was at a high risk of death or miscarriage... also said she took three home tests, first negative second positive and the third " had both lines so it was inconclusive " ( whatever that means) so at her age would they be able to tell the difference between pregnancy and menopause with a blood test? Shes 50. Is the timing for her doctors appointment add up? She also claimed to have had a miscarriage around 15 years ago and said she lost it around 5 months "because her endometriosis suffocated the baby" never had endometriosis before never mention of it again till now. Does any of this add up? We are so hurt that she would possibly lie about this especially with all we have gone through. And even more scared for what may lie ahead for this baby if it's real. As I explained in the beginning it wouldn't be a good situation for the child. Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.
