Please help- is 99.9 considered fever on 1 month old baby?

My 1 month old daughter been running a 99.9 fever since this morning! I’m so worried it may go up... i took it rectal and it’s 99.9 ... and on her ear was 98.7... should i worry? And what should i do so it doesn’t go up more?
First time mom and freaking out...

Normal temp rectal is 99.6 so technically yes that is an elevated temp. By a fever that is a concern is 100.4. Make sure you’re not taking it right after baby has had a bath or been bundled up.

The pediatrician say 100.4 or higher so don’t worry. You can’t do medicine yet so try not to stress. Maybe take a layer off or run a fan
