What to wear on a maternity ward when given birth? I’ve got pjs but what sort of clothes for just incase I’m in the next day witch probably will be because its my first

Maternity pants and told that are easy to nurse in.  I just stayed in their nursing nightgown until discharge though.  I didn’t feel like bleeding all over my own clothes.

They tell you to pack maternity leggings/ clothes as most women’s stomachs don’t go down right after giving birth and you’ll still look pregnant. Mine went down right away and I was able to wear my pre pregnancy clothes but most don’t . So just pack leggings, maternity clothes, a robe, button up shirts if you plan to breastfeed, etc. basically just comfy clothes that won’t be restrictive on your stomach, easy to move around in and easy to breastfeed if you plan to

Wear the hospital robe while actually laboring and delivering. You’re going to get messy. But for after being a robe or nightgown for after you are cleaned up. They’re going to be checking you, so don’t mess with pants. I had a c section and wearing my maternity pants for the drive home gave a gentle support for my belly.

High rise pajama pants and a T-shirt (breast feeding one if you’re going to try to breastfeed).

I had to stay 4 days / nights and never put on clothes. I wore hospital gowns with mesh pp underwear the whole time. I changed the gown several times from the blood. I didn’t want to get blood on my own clothes. They kept bringing me new gowns daily so I could change into a clean one whenever I wanted.

i wore a gown with my first but i had to have a csection it hurt to have anything touching my stomach i’ll do the same with my daughter as well in june ❤️

I found a nightie and dressing gown better as I had to have a catheter, so couldn't actually put bottoms on. 
I packed a pair of leggings and breast feeding top to go home in, but as it was late at night when they discharged me, I went home in my nightie and a jacket (it was summer though).

Well for the lost part I just wore the gown. But after labor I wore comfy baggy pants when guest came, and a nursing tank top with a caradagin. Going home i wore pretty much the same.
