My prenatal vitamins come separate from dha pills but in the same package I take one of each

DHA helps with brain development and preventing preterm birth, you are recommended to get at least 250mg per day and no more than 1,000mg per day. My prenatal only had 50 so I went and got more. DHA won’t cause birth defects if you take too much like folic acid will. There have been studies world wide on it and in Japan their average daily intake is around 1,000mg with no problems recorded.

Yes! It’s extremely important for brain development. Some prenatals have it in them, but my doc said not to use that kind because the quality of the dha is severely diminished in that state. She said to take dha that’s totally separate, in a soft gel, and kept refrigerated. (And of course intended for pregnancy).
