Baby shower for second child?

My little man will be 14 months when our baby girl arrives. Some have asked me when my shower is and some have asked if I needed anything personally because they assumed I would not be having one. I have a lot of the big stuff but I didn’t know if anyone else would be having a shower with children so close in age. I have made a small registry because grandparents always ask if we need anything and this way they know what we actually need/ want.

I didnt have one for my second even though i had friends asking to host one for me. And I personally find it weird if people have more than one baby shower. Especially if the kids are close in age because you can reuse a lot of things. Theres also a lot of different things you can do instead of a shower like a gender reveal or a simple BBQ since we will be pregnant still when it gets warmer. 
The words baby shower just makes me think of presents, a first time mom and needing all the essentials. 
At the end of the day, it doesnt matter what strangers on here think. If your friends and family are into it and you want to do it, go for it 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is tricky, because I had 3 baby showers. One with my oldest daughter because she was my first. One with my middle child because she was with my now husband (first child was with previous relationship), because it was his first. And one with our son because 1) it had been 5 years since I had my daughter  2) because he is the first boy in my family so no one had any boy stuff 3) because he was VERY difficult for us to conceive.

My son will be 2 and I won’t be having one. I personally don’t want one since I still have all of my sons big items. I always assumed baby showers were for first time parents. But of course all families are different.

If it's a different gender, I don't see a problem doing a shower for smaller items like clothes and diapers

I think a family bbq is more appropriate than a shower. But my family doesn’t do showers for 2nd kids. I usually just buy a case of diapers and wipes and that is my gift. Parents usually have all the big stuff.

I was in the same situation. Our daughter will be 3 when our son arrives. I did ask on Facebook and all the responses I got we're a yes. Every baby deserves a celebration.
