This is a long shot but... any CARDIOLOGIST here?
Are there any cardiologist that use the app that would be willing to answer a question for me?
In 2015 my father was diagnosed with tricuspid valve regurgitation. His aortic valve was blocked along with this. He had 2 heart valve replacements. Sadly, they only worked until 2018 when he passed away.
When the surgeons did the surgery they said it was a birth defect that no one noticed for 50-some-odd years.
About 5 months after my dad died, his cousin Wayne passed away due to the same thing.
My dad’s cousin, Joyce, was just diagnosed today with tricuspid valve regurgitation.
Now here’s my question (well, questions): how likely am I or my daughter to have the same birth defect AND how do I get checked for this??
With his cousin just getting diagnosed today & another one of his cousins passing shortly after him for the same thing... it’s making me very anxious.
Any advice? How do I talk to my doctor??
EDIT: my daughter is only 13 months old. Forgot to mention she’s still quite young. & I’m about to turn 22.
