Infant nursing skills rusty

Jennifer • Hopelessly in love with my soulmate, mother of four beautiful kiddos: 💕03/03/08, 💙05/06/10, 👼💙09/28/18 - 06/02/2020, 💙03/27/2022 and current expecting #5 in July

My son is 5 months old. My older kids got a bug and inevitably we both got it as well. Sore throat, cough, a bit of a cold, no fever. I don't take my kids to the doctor over little colds and coughs because taking them to a place where there is more germs is often not the best idea when there is nothing they can do for them anyway. I am getting a little worried about my little guy though his cough seems to be pretty bad sounding. He's still in a good mood and plays as most of the time but when he laughs he'll start coughing. This has been going on the last three days. He is not having trouble feeding or breathing he is still mostly his same self except for that he is sleeping a bit more and is a little more irritable than usual. I don't want to take him in unless it's absolutely necessary, what do you ladies think? Should I just go to ease my own mind or are there certain symptoms that need to go along with this before they need to be taken to a doctor?
