They just don't understand!
Hello beautiful ladies!! I just switched to Fertility Awareness and I've had a really hard time explaining my choice to people. I don't mind people thinking it's not for them, but its frustrating when I explain it and people look at me like I'm crazy! I had an IUD for 5 years, but it caused cysts which caused me to gain weight and at first gave me horrible cramping. Before that I was on the pill. So for 10 years I've been on some form of medicated birth control, hormonal and non. Last year by best friend was diagnosed with cervical cancer, we are in our mid 20's, so this came as quite a shock. After her diagnosis, we had both done a lot of research into what may have caused it and our reproductive health in general. Through this process we discovered how detrimental medicinal BC can be to our bodies. I learned so much and decided FA was something I wanted to try. The problem I've had is with a lack of knowledge and understanding. Since joining this app, I've had the personal epiphone of just how terrible the sex education in America is! Its appalling! Women are given very little information on how our bodies work!! Medicinal BC has become the norm to the extent that anything else is crazy! So my question is how do you ladies handle it when others just don't understand Fertility Awareness?? How do you explain it so they understand? I'm also curious what brought you to FA? Thank you ladies!! 💙
