PMS or pregnant???

Question

I’m 4 days late as of today. I’ve had back aches, sore nipples, light cramps, some nausea on occasion, but I have taken multiple pregnancy tests up until two days ago and nothing. Could it just be pms? Frustrating cuz we have been trying for 7 months.

sigh. after 2 cycles, i’ve learned that we can ask all we want on here about pms or pregnancy symptoms. they’re so similar that really, only a pregnancy test confirms it. our bodies are all so different and we experience different symptoms and sometimes they vary, and sometimes they’re pregnancy and sometimes they’re pms. the sore breasts, the spotting for a day or two. they were pms for me and many people who posted on here. i think we do it in the moment to feel hopeful but all we can do for each other is send positive wishes and hope. best of luck to ya and hopefully you’ll test positive soon

Unfortunately, PMS symptoms and early pregnancy symptoms are indistinguishable. That’s because they’re literally both caused by the same thing. Every month progesterone rises after O in preparation for possible pregnancy, and that progesterone is what causes post-O symptoms regardless of whether we turn out to be pregnant or not. Hang in there—hope it turns out to not be PMS for you this month!
