I’ve been reading different things regarding tests for fertility and have some questions before my OB appointment Friday. My boyfriend and I have not been trying, nor do we plan on trying any time soon, but we want to know each of our fertility levels so that we have a better idea of how to plan for the future.

Is it true that most doctors won’t test if you aren’t/haven’t been trying to conceive?

What questions should I be asking?

What sorts of tests should we request - not only for myself, but for him too?

Basically, we just want to know what kind of time clock we’re working with. I’m only 23 currently & we really don’t want to start trying for another 3-5 years, but there’s a history of miscarriages and early menopause (before 40) in all of the women in my family & we want a few children - why we just want to know if it’s important we don’t wait too many years.
