February baby!

She's here! Born at 39+1. My second induction took just around 31 hours. For the first 28, I went from 2cm/40%/-3 to 5cm/80%/-3. It was starting to look like it would take a long time! A few minutes after being checked, I was startled by a large movement. It felt like she had tried to Hulk Smash her way out. I joked that maybe she broke my water. I got up, took a few steps, and nothing. Then it came out in big gushes, along with a giant mucus plug (I thought that I had already lost it all, nope!!) Around 2 hours later, contractions were getting really intense and I asked for nitrous oxide. I had a feeling something was wrong because I already had an urge to push, but I knew it was too soon. I was 6cm, 100%, but station +2! The nurse told me that I had to fight the urge to push, and it was extremely difficult! I found that making very deep grunts helped. By the time the midwife came in and checked me, I had dilated from 6cm to 10cm in less than 30 minutes. I pushed for 25 minutes before she was born. That last hour was so intense! The nurse mentioned a few times after that it was an interesting labor to be a part of.
