Hey ladies, how successful is a preventative cerclage? I had a rescue cerclage placed at 20 weeks because I was dilated to 2 cm and membranes bulging out. Well rescue cerclage was not successful and I went into pre term labor a week after and lost my second baby girl 1/30/2019. With this second loss I was told I had an incompetent cervix. I lost my first baby girl in 2016 at 21 weeks also. My doctor told me not to quit trying and next pregnancy he will place a preventative cerclage in at 12-14 weeks. I’m just worried about getting pregnant again getting the cerclage put in and for it to not work.

We want to try again in a year but I still would like to hear stories of the cerclage being successful
