Am I the only one who wants to be induced after or on my due date?

Girls before I get a lot of negative reactions just hear me out and then give me your insight on this. This Wednesday I'll be 35weeks due April 3rd. I Noway want to be induced before my due date ... I want our BABYGIRL to cook as long as possible OFCOURSE and I know how important those last weeks are for growth of lungs .... Here's my thing..... I was induced for our son and absolutely loved it I was a day post due date and my dr said let's go your ready. I went in at 2cm and my cervix was soft so when I got there I asked my gyn IS IT POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE EPIDURAL BEFORE WE BEGIN AND HE SAID YES OFCOURSE.  We lemme tell you the next 11hrs was blissful me and my fiancé loved every minute of it and within 4pushes my son was born. OFCOURSE I did feel that last hour or pressure lol. Moral of my story is induction was great and I know every labor is different but I don't want that frantic OMG MY WATER BROOE FEAR KMAO , I don't want that out of nowhere labor lmao I loved it was controlled and smooth. I know his is out of my control but am I wrong for wanting an induction? I loved getting ready and going to the hospital CALMLY . Idk ladies maybe I'm just nervous as the time gets closer. Thought?

A “due date” is only a guess date. Induction comes with a lot of risks that doctors won’t tel you about. Research beforehand and know what you’re really getting yourself into. Obviously, it’s up to you, but an induction when not medically necessary is way too risky in my book.

I had a friend who was induced 2 days after her due date and it was absolutely TERRIBLE. She was in labor for nearly 30 hours. I went into labor naturally 4 days before my due date and my baby was here 8 hours later. It’s called and estimated due date for a reason, and babies will come when they are ready. Unless you have a medical reason to be induced, I would never force my body into it.

I had the same experience with my first and honestly I want the same with this one. I didn’t need pitocin (only needed the cervix softening pill). I would love to be able to schedule a date and have my in-laws come to watch our first since they live 2.5 hrs away and we have no other friends or relatives that could watch our son. I don’t feel that it is a bad thing to want the same. It’s not like you’re wanting to get induced weeks before the due date (even though I know that’s not possible).

I went in to be induced  at 40 wks with my 1st. Guess who's  water broke right before i signed  the paperwork  to be logged in.

1 st one my water broke went in wasn’t progressing got induced. After 21 hrs he got stuck had to have a c section. Second one slow induction on due date came 10 hrs later as VBAC had some hemorrhaging. I honestly feel like if I wasn’t in the hospital with Drs there to provide me with care something would go terribly wrong. I also like knowing that I’m being monitored,  baby is safe and if not they can get em out. My second was 8.46 Ibs I’m not even trying to have a 10 ib baby two weeks past the due date.

In with you I want to be induced on due date. I hate being pregnant and I was eight days late with my first and then induced. Just know it may not work and hope for the best

I’ve had two really smooth, easy inductions but I’m still hoping to have a more ‘natural’ experience this time. I’m not opposed to another induction, it’s just not my first choice.

Like you said every labor is different. You may have loved how it went the first time. Who knows how it will go this time. Forcing your body into labor isn’t the way to go unless medically necessary.
