Old man name?

So my husband and I have been struggling with a boy name and lately I have really been liking Gavin. Overt he weekend I was telling my mom the name front-runners and she said she doesn't like Gavin and not to pick it, she also said it sounds like an old man name. I thought of it more as a newer fresh name? Thoughts? We are still not decided for sure, just still testing out names. Hopefully we pick something soon, 10 weeks left

Gavin is a name that's been around a really long time but it's not very common and I think it fits for a baby and ages really well.

You get to pick the name, he’s YOUR child- not hers. Gavin is adorable, and though it may be old-fashioned, it’s a lovely name. I think it’s perfect.

My cousin is Gavin, he’s a lot older than me but I always liked his name. It’s very unique and I’ve never met another.
I don’t see it as an old man name though.
