extended family vaccines
is/has anyone asked extended or long distance family to get their tdap (whooping cough) vaccine before visiting? my husband and I and my parents (who are local) have gotten ours because we will be around baby most. but what about long distance family (babys grandparents, great grandparents, and aunts and cousins) that will be visiting out of town and possibly staying with us? should I ask them to get the vaccine? is it really necessary if they stay with us or in a hotel? I don't know how long the daily visits will be or the entire visit itself or where they will end up staying based on their preference but I want to be prepared to help protect the baby. so should I ask them to get one or is washing hands enough?
