Membrane sweep at 38+2 and he came right along after!

Stacy

We’re so in love! Due date March 9th, born at 9:37pm Feb 25th.

I came in for a 38wk appt, asked for a membrane sweep because I’m known to go into labor within 24hrs after having one (4cm 75%), and since we had an hour and 15min drive and 3 other kids at home to get situated we thought it be best to kinda “know” when he would come. Wellllll I basically started contracting within 2 hours of the sweep, we ran home got kids and bags and came back to the hospital. The contractions got stronger throughout the day, we got a hotel room and waited for my mom to get there to be with the other children, once she came (and hour and a half drive for her the opposite way) we came to the hospital about 7pm and were hooked up to monitors, I was checked at 7:37pm due to consistent contractions that I was having to breath through and we’re getting strong and was 6cm and 80% thinned, felt a small gush after the check it was tested and it was amniotic fluid. They admitted me... I was feeling pressure around 9pm so they checked me again and I was 7cm 90% effaced and the dr said I must have had a for-bag of fluid and that my water still needed to be broke so he asked if he could and I agreed knowing the contractions were going to get crazy!!!! AS THEY DID! I had 3 more contractions and before I knew it, it was ready to push! I pushed once and was told to stop, all in the same contraction they said one more little push and HE WAS BORN! :) 8lbs 5oz 21’1/4” long and a head full of hair! It happened so fast this time (4th) and we are so blessed. I’m having a tubal ligation this AM. Stay strong and patient mamas I know it’s hard but once their here it makes it all worth it!
