me and this one girl have been super close for about 7 years now! i was always close to her family and she was always close to mine. well her mom committed suicide lastnight. my friend called me about an hour ago to tell me. the only thing is i currently live in california and she lives in texas. so it’s not like i can hug her and be with her 24/7. i was in completely shock when she told me. like i went completely numb. how do i comfort her through text/calling?

my parents live in texas so i told them to check up on my friend and make sure she’s ok. (her parents and my parents were close as well)
