Prenatal Lactation Consultation?

Did anyone have a lactation consultation appointment before giving birth? I have one today and was just wondering what to expect?

I’m attending a breastfeeding class at the hospital next week. I struggled breastfeeding my first child and hoping this will help prepare me better. Let us know how it went!

I contacted one in advance and she is on call for when I get home from the hospital, but I won’t be consulting with her before I give birth. Although I did attend a breastfeeding class that she taught when I was 32w.

Ill have access to a lactation consultant at the hospital and than we have home visit nurses who come out the first few weeks so I'll have access to someone when Im home.

I’m going to a class tomorrow, and my doula is also a lactation consultant, so she’s going to cover some basics at our prenatal appointment in a few weeks!

I'm scheduling an appointment with one today at my doctor's office and then the hospital I'm delivering at has one on call at all time. All my friends that have recently delivered said it was the best thing they did by having an appointment with her!
