Visitors after delivery

A lot of the times I’m in my own world thinking about what else I need to do before baby is here. I literally just now recall my mother in law saying that she’s going to be in the waiting room while baby is born and go into our new room right after baby is here.

I kinda wanted to have some bonding time with my husband and my new little one, give her her first feeding, possibly shower, freshen up, maybe take a nap, before I accept any visitors... my hospital let us know we’d each be able to do 1 hour of skin to skin with baby too. So I’m considering not accepting visitors until after 3-4 hours (depending on the time I go into labor). If I go into labor at night I don’t have to worry about this because my hospital visiting hours don’t start until 11am (I believe)

Obviously, I’m going to let her & other family members visit & let them know when I’m going into labor but because she lives close to us I’m afraid she’ll just pop in.

I’m a FTM so I have no idea how this is going to go or how I’m going to feel.

Has anyone accepted visitors RIGHT after you give birth ?
