A considerable amount. Generally, I put 75-80% away for tax purposes and savings. Fortunately, I have that privilege but the general rule for saving is to put aside what you don’t need for bills/living expenses, and then take 25% of that for fun stuff and put the rest away.

I put away about R850- R900 a month which is about 10% of my salary. That's the equivalent of about $60- $70 which doesn't sound like that much but in our currency it's a decent amount.
