I need advice on what to do with my 7 year old, majority of the time he's honestly a great kid and is very smart. But occasionally he says and does things at school that aren't ok.

In September or October his teacher called and said that he'd written a love letter to a girl in his class, which was fine. Until she read it and he had asked the little girl if she wanted to have sex with him.

When asked if he knew what that word meant he of course told everyone no, and that he'd heard it on tv. We started monitoring what he watched more closely and we haven't been watching anything grown up until he's asleep.

Well today I got a call from his principal saying that he told the whole that he was kissing a girl in his bed last night, and that there was going to be a shooting.

The principal said he wasn't in trouble that kids do these things for attention all the time and he just wanted me to be aware.

Has anyone else's child done this? If so what did you do to help, or any advice at all is appreciated.
