Orajel?

My baby is getting 4 teeth at the same time, Been receiving mixed reviews about Orajel. Some moms say its a life saver others say its dangerous. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Science and the FDA have both said it is dangerous. 
Our pediatrician and pediatric dentist both say no gels, oils or tablets. Against all for safety reasons.

It was the ingredient Benzocaine that was deemed very unsafe for babies. Chances are Orajel probably no longer uses that if it is on the shelves, but check just to make sure

My pediatrician says no. She said frozen wash rags and Tylenol if they are really unhappy are the best route.

I’d skip it. What I did with my son was bought these little mesh bag on a nuke like handle, made a breastmilk ice cube, and stuck it in the mesh, gave it a whack to disperse it a little, closed it, and handed it over and had one relieved/happy baby. I think it was a product by munchkin, 2 pack. You can put other things in mesh depending on age/diet.

Never used it. We made our own version and stuck with Tylenol and my son did fine.

Orajel just tightens the gums up making it harder for the teeth to pop out and making teething take longer, so I've heard. I was told olive oil will help tenderize the gums making it easier for the teeth to come through and shortening teething time. I haven't tried it, but it is something to consider. Good luck!

Never ever 🙅🏻 and it's not just moms who say it's dangerous. It's the FDA. Hence why it's been recalled.

From what I've noticed at the store orajel changed their products, they took the old stuff off the shelf and no longer sell it. The orajel for sale now is comparable to the other natural teething gels
