If I am anemic will it affect me at all while giving birth?

I didn’t know that it could impact labor! I was diagnosed with being slightly anemic at 28 weeks after my glucose test and they put me on iron supplements. I stopped taking them when I got really sick for a week and never picked it back up!! Now I’m worried that I should not have stopped!!! Definitely going to take mine right now.

You’re more likely to experience hemorrhaging or blood loss.

I was extremely anemic with my first. When we got to the hospital to be induced is when I found out. It was so bad that I was told a C-section was absolutely not a choice bc I probably wouldn't survive. 
I had to sign some papers in case I lost too much blood and they started to lose me. 
Thankfully I got lucky. I didn't lose as much blood as they thought I would. I didn't need a blood transfusion either. The doctor's said that my situation was not normal, that most people hemorrhage.

I am anemic but was undiagnosed until I gave birth the first time. I hemorrhaged really badly and was one step away from needing to go into the OR because they couldn’t tell where the bleeding was coming from and it wouldn’t stop. Lucky they were able to get the bleeding under control. I ended up getting a blood transfusion the next day. 
With my second, my iron levels were monitored very closely. Like at least once a month I was getting my levels checked and I took iron supplements. Birth and recovery went smoothly and I didn’t have any complications. I tore during delivery but was stitched up no problem.

Worst case scenario you’ll need a blood transfusion, but I’m anemic and all my births have been okay no blood transfusion needed. So you’ll probably be okay 😊

With my first i was anemic and when i delivered my son i wouldn't stop bleeding. I got a postpartum hemorrhage. They took almost 30min compressing my uterus to slow down the bleeding. Good thing i didn't need a transfusion.

After my first daughter I was super weak and couldn’t hold my daughter and when I’d stand up I was losing huge blood clots and fainting so I wasn’t aloud to get up without the assistance of a nurse

My iron has always been slightly lower than the average & during my first delivery, after I had him I was loosing a lot of blood so I had to get some sort of shot in my thigh. Other than that, I was okay!! So I know it does affect, just differently in ever person, I’m sure.

Blood loss, take iron pills or make sure you are eating tons of food rich in iron. This is soooo important
