Did you get a preconception visit before trying?

I’ve read it’s a good idea to get one but not sure...

I was going to but my insurance won’t cover any preconception visits so I’m just doin an annual physical and letting my doctor know I’m trying to conceive 🤷🏼‍♀️

A general exam turned into mine after she asked if I was still regularly taking the pill. Next thing I know I’m getting a scrip for prenatal vitamins and genetic testing. Didn’t plan on actively trying for another 5 months or so at that point.

I did. I was due for a pap so insurance covered it as my annual and then I told them I was trying and they ordered a ton of tests. We did bloodwork, transvaginal ultrasound, hysteroscopy and I believe something else and it was all covered since I paired it with my annual visit 👍🏼

I kind of did - I had to see my general doc to get my iud removed and I talked to them about a few concerns I had with chemicals I work around. But they didn’t do any extensive tests just asked me if I had any concerns. 
I just went to my confirmation appt yesterday and he ordered the full standard blood panel that they do for all pregnant women and I meet with a pregnancy health educator on Friday, which is pretty cool. So I think unless you have concerns about your ability to conceive due to an underlying medical condition or addiction, then you’re probably good to just begin. 
I started taking a prenatal with good folic acid and fish oil (dha) the month we began ttc. It helps prep your body for a healthy pregnancy and my doc recommended it.
