Which do you prefer Swaddle blanket or swaddleme with the Velcro?

Do you prefer the swaddle blanket or the swaddle me with the Velcro? Do I need both? Are the blankets hard to use?

You can use a blanket to swaddled by my littles always unraveled them. I prefer a swaddle with velcro. I used them with all three of my babies and they really liked them and slept much more soundly with it.

Velcro! I sucked at swaddling and just didn't feel safe enough with it. but the Velcro ones where so helpful.

I put both types on my registry then the midwife told us at antenatal class that  they aren't safe anymore, as babies need to move their hands if they get too warm as overheating is a cause of SIDS and to buy cellular blankets instead. 
So i switched all the registry items to cellulars.

I had Velcro swaddles with my first, easier than the blankets. I bought a few zipper swaddles for this next baby to try. Some of the Velcro swaddles are kind of loud and startled my first baby during the night.

Velcro! You can get them much tighter and baby is less likely to get their arms out and wake themselves up. My son sleeps 100% better with the Velcro one and it’s what helps him sleep 8 hours his first stretch at 12 weeks old 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I didn’t even know about velcro ones when I had my first in 2009. We used receiving blankets to swaddle him. We maybe did it for a month before we stopped swaddling him. He didn’t need it for comfort and was a extremely hot baby.

I tend to prefer swaddling blankets, but I think you get more extensive use out of swaddlers. My husband also far preferred the swaddlers with Velcro.
