I think it’s up to both. If I don’t like his we don’t use it. If he don’t like mine we don’t use it. We compromise. Because that’s what adults do.

They both should. If together both need to have a say.  It bugs me a little when women say their husband has no say in the name because she the one having the baby or whatever they come up with.  It’s his baby to. He should have a say to.

I let him name the boy so I could name the girl I don’t exactly love my sons name but it’s ok I can’t really think of any good boys name anyway besides Elijah and my SIL just names her son that 🙄 I’m stuck on a name for a girl tho

My and my SO decided that for a boy I'd pick his first name and he'd pick the middle name if we have a girl I pick the middle name he picks the first name so we both get some say in our child's name

It’s not just YOUR child, therefore both of you need to agree on the decision. How selfish. The only acceptable reason for one parent to solely pick the name without the other is if the other parent is not going to be in the picture at all.
