HSG Anyone?

I’m scheduled for a HSG soon, I’m so nervous.. Has anyone here had it before, how should I prep myself and what should I expect? Excited to be one step closer to finding out what up with my tubes but nervous to know what’s it going to be.. 😕

They also say your chances of convincing increase for two months after having this done because it kinda “cleans you out”

I felt no pain with my HSG, I wore a pad just Incase I leaked after the procedure (didn’t notice any though). It was quick. They say you really feel pain if you have a blocked Fallopian tube, I didn’t. And if any discomfort maybe a pinch like getting a Pap smear when they enter the cervix.

Hystosalpinogram... I've done it twice. It's not a very comfortable procedure but it does go pretty quick. Try to wear comfortable clothes and expect some cramping afterwards. Good luck! Hope you get some answers to help in your journey!

Take an over the counter pain reliever, mine hurt so bad I cried. Just breathe and try to relax and imagine your baby in your arms 💜

It was over very quick. But I was very nervous leading up to mine. I cramped pretty bad afterwards but nothing to unbearable. Take some over the counter before hand. The worst part was the uncomfortable table for me. Good luck!

I took Advil before mine and didn’t experience pain, just a heavy pressure feeling. Don’t let other people freak you out on here. I got all in a tizzy before mine and it was no big deal. I understand everyone has different experiences but you won’t know until you’re there. I have about 5 friends who also had them done who had a similar experience as me. Be prepared and don’t stress. Take a deep breath as it’s happening. It only takes a minute or two. You can do it 💪🏻

I suffer from really bad cramps and thought I’d be able to handle it because I tolerate pain well. I took the ibuprofen an hour before. It hurt like a mother effer for about 15-30 seconds which cause me to cuss like crazy. But it was over fast. Mild discomfort the rest of the day but nothing major.

I just had one done this week and it was so uncomfortable! And a tad bit painful but I looked at it as one step closer to a baby! I’ve read that 1-2 months after the test some women have became pregnant ! So 🤞🏾 ! ❤️❤️❤️ good luck to you !

Take 800 mg Advil 45 min prior. It’s just like a pap.. a slight cramp like a period cramp then the dye goes in but it’s over quick and they tell you right then what they see. Good luck, don’t be nervous!

It feels like intense period cramps. It doesnt take too long though. Like everyone else said, take some pain reliever before hand and bring a pad with you because you may leak some of the dye out afterward.
