Oops accidentally yanked out my IUD lol

Ch

Long Story lol

Background info: I’ve had the paraguard for 2 years and been using a menstrual cup for 3/4 of that time so I’m not a newbie to it.

Last sunday uh while I was changing my menstrual cup in the shower, I don’t think I broke the suction well enough because did I FEEL an ache! I tried to ignore it but the was like hmm better check if the string is there and nope nothing nadahhh. After cleaning myself off did I find the paraguard on top of the drain but unlucky me it was broken! I panicked and cried but was gonna ignore it till the morning lol but my twin says its time for er visit! I did try googling if this was an emergency or not but broken paraguard is not a common enough occurrence to give me good answers lol. Spent 3 hours waiting to get into a room and hear a nurse yell really loudly “guess who yanked out their iud” as she walked by. Then the first physician to see me was a dismissive ass but the second bald one was nice and suggested an ultrasound. Alfkalfk like I’m not dying but my abdomen did ache and I wondered if the IUD perforated anything. The nurse taking my ultrasound was really nice lol I think she said this is the first time they dealt with a broken iud. 5 hours total at er. I then got discharged and was told to go see Planned Parenthood because they put it in. Slept for 30 min and off I went! I was able to be seen same day but at 10am so me and my bf just got coffee at walmart. The doctor there said the notes I was given said no iud was found but the er ppl told me go see them to get the piece removed so I was like??? Do I got a piece of plastic floating inside my uterus or nah?! Lol I was supposed to follow up with a ob/gyn but I was tired of ppl poking at my cervix and just went to the chiropractor. I was going to see one anyways and they take xrays so kill two birds with one stone! She confirmed for me there was nothing so I am relieved that my uterus is free of any devices. I do think the iud was going to expel sooner or later because my cramps are like realllly bad but the menstrual cup gave the push it needed. 2 years of paraguard and now I’m back on birth control pills again. I might get an IUD again but probably not because my uterus does not agree.

It’s a lot bigger than I remembered it to be lol
