Removing my Mirena

I've had my mirena for a while now and I'm not feeling it. I've had it for close to a year and I still haven't become at peace with it. I'm constantly scared something is going to happen, ectopic pregnancy, piercing my uterus, not being able to get pregnant after removal etc... I just had such a traumatic experience getting it put in I'm to nervous to get it removed. When I say bad experience I mean bad. Nearly passed out, excruciating pain, nurse had to hold my legs on her shoulder and rub my feet to keep the blood flow going. It was TERRIBLE. has anyone gotten theirs removed after having a similar experience with the insertion? I really need some advice. I just have been able to get myself to get it removed.
