Confused, have a question!?!

Question

Okay so my doctor told me you go by the first day of your period And then count 14 days after that and that is when you will be most fertile and ovulating. But my calendar for this app shows 14 days from the last day of my period For me to be the most fertile and ovulating !?! 
What do i go by, someone please help!?!

This is why you really need to track your ovulation with OPKs or temp with a BBT because there isn’t a general rule for everyone. Neither of those would be right for me so can’t really tell who is correct, but Glow is just an algorithm prediction though

If you have a 28 day cycle then 14 days after the start of your period is your most fertile time and 14 days after that your period is due again. If you have a longer cycle (like me) then the extra days are in the first part of your cycle. Your most fertile time remains about 14 days before your next period while the first part of your cycle (period + waiting for your fertile time) is longer than 14 days.

How many days are your cycles? If you have a consistant 28 day cycle then your Dr is probably right.   But if you're like me, i have a 31 day cycle and i ovulate 17 days after the first day of my period.
