Seasonal depression
I have depression naturally but it tends to be better in the summer when it’s warm and I’m more active and do outdoorsy things. I live in Washington where the sunny days aren’t consistent and it’s still 25 degrees this morning. The high is going to be 47. But we also have wind and then it gets over cast and it’s super depressing. I’m stuck inside because I have an intolerance to cold. Then it’ll rain and be wet and gross. Bottom line is the weather here sucks and there’s rarely any sun. So I am more depressed living here. I can’t move because my husband got stationed here and we have at least 2.5 more years here 😭
What can I do about this? I’m from the south so I am used to 100 degree summers and short winters and it’s literally been winter for 6 months already. I don’t take meds because I’m pregnant and I’d rather avoid taking anti depressants while pregnant or nursing. Unless I truly have to but lately it’s getting terrible. I am getting cabin fever and getting antsy looking at flights to go back home for just a weeks worth of sun and 70 degree weather. How do you ladies deal with this if you have this issue?
