My son was born yesterday with trouble breathing. He was transferred a few hours ago to a larger hospital with a nicu for better care, while I won’t be released till tomorrow morning. Found out He has pulmonary hypertension. This is being caused by a connector between both sides of the heart being open rather than closed. So the blood from the right side of the heart that carries blood to the lungs is struggling and working extra hard. Therefore he isn't getting proper oxygen to the lungs. They haven't intubated him but it's a possibility. For now he is on a high concentrated rate of oxygen. Has a pic line in his belly button one to the vein to draw blood one to the artery to draw blood gasses. IV in top of his head for meds and heart monitor on. Echocardiogram showed a good heart structure other than the open connector. It should close with time on its own. Right now the doctor said he is a very sick little guy but in time should be ok. He will be in NICU for a while. I haven’t even gotten to hold him yet. I’m having trouble pumping. Hoping I get to do skin to skin tomorrow.
And I just can’t get over all the hair!!!!😍
They had to put an iv in his head 😭 glad i wasn’t in the room I don’t think I would have been able to handle it
I love my sil and mil for sending me pictures since I’m stuck an hour away
He’s just to cute 😍 I can’t wait for his older brother to be able to hold him, and for him to come home!
He was pretty mad when they first gave him to me
Then he fell asleep 😍
And shortly woke up to stare at me 😍😍😍😍
