Did you give your baby under one the flu shot? (6mos-1yr)

Baby girl is 8 mos old & at her most recent appointment Doc suggested the flu shot, but I opted out because I like to do my research and ask around. I wanted to see what the Glow community thought about giving babies under 1 year of age the flu shot! Thanks for your answers in advance!

Everyone needs to be vaccinated, but especially younger kids who don’t have a lot of immunity built up.

Yes, there is really no real reason (besides allergies and such) not to get it. I'd rather my kids have some protection than none at all.

My daughter was just slightly shy of being old enough for the flu shot at the beginning of last flu season. 
She ended up getting the flu and we ended up in the hospital with her. It was So Scary. She looked so lethargic and just.... gone. It’s hard to imagine, but once you’ve seen your child in that condition, you realize that you’ll stop at nothing to protect them from ever being like that again. 
So yes, later that month when she was old enough - we got her the flu shot. 
Because I don’t see how it makes sense to Not try to do everything in my power to make sure my child doesn’t suffer from illness.

I did it with my babies. They give them a different dosage under 1, at least mine did. There was a part 1 & then a part 2 maybe a month later?

Yes, I absolutely opted to protect my daughter from what could be a deadly illness 🙄 if your child gets the flu at that age, she could die. Point blank. Her immune system isn't equipped to handle it. This should be common sense to protect your kid and keep her healthy.

Yes! Glad I did because the flu is going around crazy. My grandmother, 2 of my sisters, my niece & dad all have type A flu. My grandmother had to be hospitalized because it almost killed her. Praying I don’t get it!

Yes ours came in two parts one was at 6months the other was at 7 months

The best way to research is your doctor and other professionals. The information others could give you here may or may not be accurate. I really wouldn’t base something as important as my baby’s life on the opinions of random people I never met. I’m really not trying to be mean at all, but just say, no matter what any of us comment, please do proper research through your doctor and maybe a second opinion if you want from another doctor. But random ladies online who don’t deal with the flu or have any type of actual medical experience aren’t the best resource! I did give my baby the flu shot at 6 months with a second dose a month later. I did so after a talk with my doctor and learning how harmful it can be. My baby is someone I’m not risking so we got the shot right away. Good luck!
