Torticollis /mass scare😩

When my baby was about 5 months old we found out he had Torticollis. So we put him in physical therapy. Learned different stretches so he wouldn’t favor one side over the other. Fast forward to baby 2 years old,

Like no other morning I wake the baby up to get ready to take him to daycare so I can get to work. Sweet baby isn’t a morning babe he’s more like a grumpy goose!

Well this morning I wake him up and he’s literally screaming bloody murder. So I hold him and I am asking him does something hurt what’s hurting. He’s having a hard time telling me what’s going on. So about an hour goes by and I notice his head is like stuck to the side. So I pick him up again and he’s screaming ow! So I sit him down on my lap and start rubbing his neck to help him straighten out.

So after work I notice he’s still in so much pain with his head to the side so I immediately schedule dr appt. we go see our regular doc and he says give him ibuprofen and if he still is screaming like this by this evening please take him to hospital.

So about 5 hours go by it’s about 6 pm now and he’s still screaming and saying hurts!!! So I get him in the car and take him to the children’s hospital. We get seen and he gets an X-ray and then we go back to our room. About a half hour later the dr comes in and takes a seat and says listen the X-ray shows something in his neck. It could either be very swollen tissue or a mass. Don’t freak out but to cover our bases we need an ultra sound. So we get that, and wait an hour and a half. Literally the time went so slow to find out if our world was going to come crashing down. I sat there holding my baby just crying. Ok bawling my eyes out scared for him.

She comes back in and says great news there is no mass but the Torticollis did flare up.

Also! I would like to point out our dr is an older man we got so lucky with him seriously he genuinely cares for his patients. He called me around 7 to see if I took him in and how he is feeling . He also called the hospital around 9 to get the scoop on what is happening to my baby.

If I could go back to when my baby was very little I wish I would have understood why he was crying as much as he did. But now I see he’s in pain. He’s hurting . Please hug your baby a little tighter ❤️🙏🏼
