Rant: "big babies"

I have seen so many woman post about how their OB wants to do a c-section because baby is measuring big with no medical problems like GD.

Now keep in mind we all know ultrasounds can be off give or take 2 pounds. But if they are so confident c-section would be best I don't understand why they can't offer a medical induction over it before 39 weeks. Like possibly taking the baby between 37- 38 weeks. I get baby should cook longer and medical inductions have their own risks but so do c- sections. Medical professionals take GD babies because of their weight all the time even though baby is healthy, just measuring big. Wouldn't it be a similar situation for the woman that are expecting a 10+ pound baby at 39 weeks with no GD? But were told they can't be induced and now feel obligated for a c-section ?

I just feel c section should be avoided at all costs because it makes the next birth a little more difficult because not all doctors are willing to do vbacs. C sections take longer to recover from.

Just doesn't seem right in my head. I guess I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the logic of the doctors procedures.

Now I have a little baby from my understanding so it not something I am facing, I just have seen 3+ woman right about facing this issue and it makes me sad.

They don't want to intervene with an induction but quick to throw out a c section. 🙄
